New Jersey native Jenny Owen Youngs will soon be supporting alt.country guy Jim White on his UK tour.
I first came across her when she supported Aimee Mann at the O2 a few months back. The next night she was also playing at the Troubadour, a tiny basement club in Earl's Court that once hosted singer-songwriters such as Paul Simon. I loved the songs and her alternately breathy and singy style, and she was very approachable after the gig - we discussed Buffy :-) She's also recently released a video for her Nelly cover, "Hot in Herre", featuring an igloo and breakdancing penguins - see YouTube for details.
