Mama Shamone - Over
Out 7th July on Genetic Recordings

After months of tearing up east London and music festivals alike, 4-piece band Mama Shamone finally release their hugely anticipated debut single ‘Over’.

The band received the MySpace accolade of band of the week last April, and things really started to kick off for them. Mark Ronson sent them a message saying he liked their songs and Radio 1 plays from Rob Da Bank and Steve Lamacq resulted in them playing the BBC Introducing stage at Bestival 2007- where their notorious double set brought them to the attention of Genetic Records’ Martin Rushent.

Recently Mama Shamone brought the house down at Islington Academy where they battled it out to win a spot at V Festival as part of the ‘Road To V’ competition. If you missed them you can watch them on Channel 4’s, ‘Road To V’ on Wednesday June 18th as they go through to the latter stages of the competition. They will be the first band featured on Channel 4’s series of eight programmes. The competition saw them battling against 3,000 other hopefuls for the opportunity to open the stage at V2008 (past winners include the Young Knives and Bombay Bicycle Club).
