If Comedy Central's Daily Show gets any more popular, they'll be closing down Fox News and the BBC might even be forced to ask po-faced Paxman if he can slip a few jokes into his hard-hitting News Night interviews. Yes, the comedy show is putting most legitimate news programs in the shade with its irreverent, zany, but completely apt coverage of our screwed-up political climate.
The show doesn't just spend its time ripping George Bush a new pee-pee hole though; they're also quite happy to make time for any music legends that just happen to be passing by. Why, just the other day, Tom Waits stopped in for a chat with Jon Stewart and even closed the show with a sparkling rendition of 'Day After Tomorrow' from his last album 'Real Gone'. Waits was doing the rounds to support his excellent three disc monster 'Orphans', which dropped just the other week. The three disc collection is an essential purchase and includes some of Tom's best work of recent times. So go buy it now, you idiot.
