Oh No! Ace hip-hop record label Rawkus are apparently a bunch of cheats and thieves, it has emerged. Oh No!
According to US reports, publishing administration company The Royalty Network has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the label, seeking damages and injunctive relief against Rawkus Entertainment LLC/MCA.
Company C.E.O.'s Jarret Myer and Brian Brater and MCA Records have been named in the suit, which claims that they "knowingly and willfully directly copied the musical compositions in their entirety for use in compact disk recording and other phonorecords".
Apparently no royalties have been paid for six years. Naughty. Eminem, Nate Dogg, Mos Def, Dilated Peoples, Pharoahe Monch and MOP are amongst those looking to benefit from the suit, which hopes to retrieve up to $30.000 a song.
