Jona Bechtolt's band, YACHT, is an amalgamation of self-taught dance moves and anthemic electro-power jams all played backwards and covered in cherry cola. YACHT shows are uncluttered, inspiring sessions of improbable dancing and synchronized crowd-waving - the songs shudder happily into the air, and any preconceived notions of what makes an energetic performance are shattered by Bechtolt's own strain of shamanistic bombast. Bechtolt has been a promiscuous genre-smasher since his adolescence, when he decided that playing drums in the touring punk band he formed with his older brother was more worthwhile than attending a single day of high school. He's plied his unique breed of laptop wizardry and grunge ethos to endless collaborations, both as drummer and producer, with west coast main-stays like Panther, Little Wings, Mt. Eerie, Bobby Birdman, Devendra Banhart, E*Rock, The Blow. Latest LP 'I Believe In You. Your Magic Is Real' is out now via Marriage Records / ERR.

APATT
A collective formed in Liverpool in 1998, a.P.A.t.T. are pretty much impossible to classify! United by their branded nurses' outfits, but performing with everything from 2 to 7 members and going through a constant evolution of hardware and software changes, the group fuses mathy, synth-led moments with almost klezmery freak-outs rendered in accordion, strings, brass and piano. Think the missing link between The Locust, Danielson Famile and A Hawk and A Hacksaw and you may be getting close!

CHOPS
Formed in early 2007, Chops are a trio from Leeds, spawned from the awesome Chinchilla Collective. Describing themselves as a "Spaced-Out-Groove-Ship", they mix freewheeling drums, cosmic keys, sax and effected vocals into a euphoric knees-up that's previously shared stages with Death Sentence: Panda!, Random Number, OvO, Indian Jewelry, Marnie Stern and Black Dice. They'll be contributing a side to UTR's upcoming split 12" series, available very shortly.
