Cairo, 1914. A darkness lies upon the alleyways and souks. The air smells of eldritch. Behind the marketplace wild dogs fall silent from fighting over rubbish bags as a chill presence passes them.
In a small home a baby lies gurgling in its cot. But here the chill presence des not pass. Stooping to see, it leans in through the window and places its hand on the child's forehead. Something passes between them, and when the sun rises it does so on a world that can never be the same again.
63 years later in an unrelated event, Jamesface will be born in a hospital in Essex.
